ultimately

Très intéressant. N'est-ce pas? "Ultimate" will be available in all fine "shops" on November 1. It will contain 19 tracks in chronological order bookended by "West End Girls" and "Love Etc.". Srsly! To make it more appealing, I would suggest slapping on my 7" remix of "Beautiful People" and issuing it as a single. Would that be too self serving?

The real treat is the special edition with a bonus DVD which will contain classic performances from their various appearances on "Top Of The Pops" over the last 25 years as well as their appearance at this year's Glastonbury festival. At least we get something new!

Tracklisting to follow shortly.

  1. This seems a bit pointless, doesn't it?

  3. This screams "contract obligation"...I wonder if they will be leaving EMI like the flocks of others? This may be their last shot at doing a comprehensive hits collection before they decide to leave, and would have to license many of these tracks to do such a thing at a later date. But to echo XO, rather pointless, indeed.

Just as long as they don't go back to a crap US label like Sanctuary was.

  5. Whoa! The completist in me doesn't like this. PopArt was so right, and was only two albums ago.

Still, Can you forgive her live on TOTP was the exact moment I sat up and took notice.

  7. They've only had 2 (not counting limited edition) greatest hits compilations in 26 years - and besides, this new one offers different content to PopArt.

By their own admission, it's really only either for the casual listener or compulsive buyer (when it comes to PSB, I fit into the latter category :)

  8. Seems very odd to have another 'Greatest Hits' so soon.... the Glastonbury show was great though, finally watched it last night.
